What is eco glitter

NATURE FRIENDLY, NON-TOXIC, CRUELTY FREE #GUILTFREEGLITTERLOVE

Eco glitter is made mainly from plant based cellulose derived for example from eucalyptus trees. It is vegan, designed for cosmetic use and an alternative to microplastic based glitter. You can use eco glitter on the face body and hair just like regular cosmetic glitter.

Biodegradable glitter what does it mean

Biodegradable glitter means that the material breaks down naturally through the action of microorganisms.

In practice:
– the plant based part of the glitter biodegrades in the environment
– the speed of biodegradation depends on conditions such as moisture temperature and microbial activity

Not all parts of the glitter break down at the same rate which is why proper removal is important.

Two types of eco glitter

Our selection includes two types of eco glitter

Biodegradable eco glitter
– meets the requirements of the EU microplastic regulation EU 2023 2055
– designed to biodegrade efficiently in natural environments

Partially biodegradable eco glitter
– made mainly from plant based materials
– a good option if you want to reduce the use of plastic glitter

Both are better alternatives compared to traditional PET glitter.

WHY ECOGLITTER?

GREAT REASONS TO USE ECOGLITTER

– lower environmental impact compared to plastic glitter
– not a persistent microplastic in premium options
– made from plant based materials
– suitable for versatile cosmetic use

Remember this glitter does not belong in the drain

Even biodegradable glitter should not be rinsed down the drain. Remove glitter by wiping, use tape to pick up remaining particles and dispose of it in the bin. This helps prevent glitter from entering waterways!

Sparkle smarter

Eco glitter is a step in a better direction but proper use and removal still matter. When you use glitter thoughtfully you can enjoy the sparkle with a better conscience ✨
